The NBA is well into its second month of the season and there have been some definite surprises in the early going in both conferences. Orlando and Boston have shot out of the gate to take control of their respective divisions, while expected contenders like Chicago, Cleveland and Miami have faltered.

Each of those latter teams will be in action this weekend, hoping to turn the tide and make a push back up in the playoff standings. The Cavaliers play two games, first at New Jersey on Friday, then hosting Philadelphia on Saturday. Make special note of the Friday night affair, since Cleveland is 30 & 15 against the spread as a road underdog under head coach Mike Brown. The Bulls play one game this weekend, at home versus new York on Friday. Things have gotten ugly in the Big Apple this basketball season, and the Knicks seem to be their worst when playing other struggling teams. In fact, under Isiah Thomas, they are just 18 & 35 ATS against teams with a losing record. In Miami, the Heat are back at home and need to make a run, starting against Indiana on Saturday night. Watch for a high scoring game, as 18 of the last 24 games between these teams in South Beach have gone OVER the total. Out west, the standings have a more familiar ring to them but the play of the Hornets and Lakers has been impressive in the early going. On Sunday night, Kobe & company will play the ever popular battle for Los Angeles bragging rights against the Clippers from Staples Center. This has been a back & forth series, with the teams splitting the last 12 games. The Lakers figure to be a big favorite though on Sunday. Don’t miss out on a great weekend of NBA betting, as Sportsbook will have game lines, totals, and props for all 27 games between Friday and Sunday.
